  • Paloich Friendship Hospital in Upper Nile state, northern South Sudan on 25 January 2017 received medicines and medical equipments worth 60,000 U.S. dollars from China. The donation from China made through the Chinese Embassy in South Sudan included 27 categories of medicines and nine medical devices, including microscopes, a Digital Blood Pressure machine and a Diabetes testing machine.

  • South Sudan and UNICEF secured the release of the first group of 280 child soldiers from an armed group in South Sudan as part of a wider deal to release about 3,000 underage fighters, as announced on 27 January 2015. The children released from the South Sudan Democratic Army (SSDA) Cobra Faction are being supported with basic health care and protection services and necessities such as food, water and clothing to help them get ready to return to their families.[1]
