  • On 8 April 2011 it was revealed that Kuwaiti inventors clinched three medals at the 39th Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions. Dr Turki Al Dhafiri received a silver medal, while Engineer Abdulmohsen Almoumen and Engineer Abdullah Al Hashash received a bronze medal each for their inventions that were ranked the best between over 1,000 innovations by a panel of expert judges.[7]

  • Government of Kuwait on 16 April 2013 donated US$53 million to UNICEF as urgent assistance to the children of Syria. The funds will also provide safe water and sanitation facilities to protect Syrian families from disease, and to continue immunization campaigns against measles and polio.[10]
